I am on the fence with DRAGONBORN. I like some of it, mainly the imagery that triggers my mind to play the memory of the classic movie The Dragonslayer in my brain. Unfortunately, a lot of the story I find tedious and disjointed. That last thought surprises me, because Jade Lee is a fantastic writer and normally I find whatever she romanticizes quite good. Perhaps writing about dragons just is not her best subject matter. The actual romance between the hero and heroine is not that tempting, either. They lust for one another and even end up together for a very short time, but the main focus of the book is on the heroine and her queen dragon egg. So, I classify this one as more dramatic storyline-driven than a romantic character type read. I suppose I shall just sum up DRAGONBORN as an okay change from what I am used to from Jade Lee. While it has its moments, it is not as good as the Tigress series or SEDUCTED BY CRIMSON. Shannon Johnson |
