Triangle of Love: Rey's Indiscretion by Kate Hofman

Rey has just recovered from serious injuries sustained when his ex-fiancée lost control of her convertible. He buys the cottage next-door to old Jane DeVilliers, who often has nieces staying with her. He hopes the quiet atmosphere of the cottage enclave will help his writing.

Jane's niece, Margot, is staying with her, doing housekeeping, massaging Jane's arthritis. Rey needs someone to type his text into his computer, and after some problems, Margot goes to work for him. When he proposes marriage, Jane is furious, she will lose her willing slave. She does her best to sabotage the young couple, interrupting and interfering whenever she can. But she can't stop their wedding. Rey is too clever for Jane: he buys a condo in a building famous for its security. Jane can no longer bother them at will.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Kate Hofman completes her delightfully old-fashioned Triangle of Love trilogy with REY'S INDISCRETION, another romp among wealthy Florida elite. It is obvious that Hofman has grown to love these characters, and readers who feel the same way will be thrilled by the reunions with stars of the previous two books in the series.

Margot DeVilliers and Rey Forsythe are both new inhabitants of the exclusive community where the Triangle of Love trilogy is set. Margot is an impoverished (by rich people standards) thirty-year-old widow, and Rey is a novelist looking for peace after a bad breakup with a bad woman and physical injuries sustained during the end of his relationship. He's definitely not looking to get involved, but Margot's aunt Jane finds a way to entwine the two. When Rey's past threatens Margot's life, he is forced to offer her protection. Will they find love as well?

I have to say that I do enjoy an outrageous bad girl and Hofman brings flair to these character types.

You can enjoy this book as a standalone, but if you enjoy the lush, traditional but sensual style of Hofman's writing you'll get maximum enjoyment by reading the complete series in order.
