TOO FAR GONE Author: Marliss Melton ISBN: 9780446509268 11/2008 SUSPENSE Publisher: GRAND CENTRAL
I have long been a fan of Marliss Melton and her novels starring sexy Navy SEALs and the women that love them. And TOO FAR GONE, the latest in her popular SEAL series, is no exception. Sean Harlan is this novel's hero and he is a great one at that. He has rented out a home to Ellie Stuart, the heroine, and her three young sons but has also stepped up to the plate for the struggling family, even though Ellie wants to make sure she can make it on her own. But her world is shattered when one night, her three sons are torn from her side in a kidnapping. As she and Sean follow the clues to return the boys to their home, they start to uncover some dangerous secrets; secrets that someone is willing to kill to protect. And along the way, they both find that what they need most is what they have had all along—each other! This novel was explosive from start to finish, including all the twists and turns in between. I do admit, in the middle I began to wonder if Melton was taking me for a wild goose chase. But don't give up on TOO FAR GONE. It delivers on all accounts. I have said this before and will say it again: Marliss Melton is a force to be reckoned with on the romantic suspense scene! Her novels always pack a powerful punch with characters that readers come to care for as if they are old friends. And the suspense is nothing short of brilliance. TOO FAR GONE was very intricately detailed and as all the pieces fell together in the end, readers are still left with more questions than answers, which is actually a good thing. Because this is a very established series that I hope will continue for a while yet to come! Run and get your copy of Marliss Melton's TOO FAR GONE as soon as possible—you won't be sorry!
