The Warrior by Sharon Sala

Each of his scars tells a story... and now a new story has begun

John Nightwalker is a strong, rugged Native American soldier who has seen many battles. While hunting down an old enemy, he crosses paths with Alicia Ponte. On the run from her father—a powerful arms manufacturer—Alicia seeks to expose her father's traitorous crimes of selling weapons to our enemies in Iraq. But Richard Ponte will do anything to stay below the radar ...even if it means killing his own daughter.

Drawn to the mystery that surrounds Alicia, John feels compelled to protect her. Together they travel through the beautiful yet brutal Arizona desert to uncover deadly truths and bring her father to justice. But their journey is about to take an unexpected turn... one that goes deep into the past.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

You could never be bored with THE WARRIOR. The author takes you on journeys near and far. The story starts out in the 1500s, where we first meet John Nightwalker, a second chief who is in love with his wife, and takes the responsibilities of protecting his clan very serious. But when death comes and he can’t stop it, it is then he becomes bound for vengeance.

Thus the story brings us to the present day John Nightwalker, an immortal, who is destined to right a wrong at any cost. When the key falls into his lap, in the form of Alicia Ponte, he will use her to be a means to this end of eternal vengeance.

With the aid of the Old Ones, ancient spirits that help lead John’s way, he is forced to look in places for things that he thought were lost to him forever, and what he sees is a reflection of the past that he held so dearly. And it all leads to this woman who is now embedding herself into his life and his heart. He realizes that their lives are more intertwined than the danger that is hunting her, and that it is the same danger that has been haunting him.
