DARKNESS BURNING Author: Delilah Devlin ISBN: 9780061498206 6/2009 EROTIC CONTEMPORARY Publisher: AVON RED
I've just finished reading this book, and my first thoughts are: Ms. Devlin, why did you leave me hanging? Will I have to wait long to find out what happens to Gabriella? Please tell me there is a sequel in the works and maybe that will set my mind at ease and hold me over until I can get my hands on it. Okay, now that I've got that bit out, I have to say that when I first started to read DARKNESS BURNING I thought, okay, swingers would like this book with vampire orgies going on... it was kind of weird. The Vampires would just walk by each other and the next thing you knew, they were laying horizontal having hot, steamy, passionate sex. It was intense, especially since half of them had mates or didn‘t even know each other. But a story was developing, and I had to read slowly to make sure I got what the author was trying to get across to the readers. Eventually I started to get into it and get the point that the author was trying express. Steamy? Well, I don’t think I’ve read a book with so much loving going on. It was hot just picking up the book; a permanent hole now resides where this erotic book sat on a table, in my home. Ms. Devlin made sure that she did not disappoint her readers on that end. I had a hard time in the beginning trying to keep up with who was who, but you catch on quick. This isn’t a book that is so confusing that you stay lost throughout. Alex and Mikaela fit well together, but again, some of that orgy stuff kind of made me mad in the beginning. Overall, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I can’t wait for the next!
