Dark Victory by Brenda Joyce

Highland warriors sworn to protect Innocence through the ages….

Fierce and powerful, Guy Macleod is every inch a Highland warrior. Yet his future is uncertain. Tormented by his family’s murder, he rejects his noble vows in pursuit of revenge—until he’s compelled to leap to the aid of a beautiful enchantress in modern-day Manhattan. One look at Tabitha Rose, and Guy knows he must possess her—body and soul.

A destiny that won’t be denied

Tabby has never met a man she wanted more, despite Guy’s macho ways. But her powers—and their newfound desire—are challenged by a jealous evil, and a supernatural showdown seems inevitable. Somehow, Guy must keep Tabby safe…and hold on to their dream of a love that transcends centuries.
He didn't choose his destiny...Destiny chose him.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

From cover to cover, this book is pure excitement. I read the first book in this series and I loved it, and I’m already looking forward to Sam‘s story, DARK LOVER.

But first things first. In DARK VICTORY, Miss. Joyce takes you from present day New York, where mousy Tabby is a mere shadow in her loving sister's magical wake, to historical Scotland where Tabby shines in her own light. Tabby is a fighter and I like that; she battles Guy Macleod tooth and nail for what she believes is right. Evil lurks around every corner but she never runs from it; she fights, knowing her powers are not developed, making the most with what she has.

Guy Macleod has ghosts haunting him from his past, and in his heart he feels like the only way to vanquish them is revenge. But can he continue this bloody battle that has been going on for centuries and chance loosing Tabby, whom he brought back with him through time?

Macleod is the strong, bull-headed warrior, who is not used to women telling him what to do, let alone one who hits him. He reeks of power, fear and danger. And I love it!

It might seem a little bit confusing when, all of the sudden you're reading one time period, then the story switches to another century. But the author did a great job blending the story together, and DARK VICTORY flows so well that you won’t get lost.
