TRANSFORMED INTO THE FRENCHMAN'S MISTRESS Author: Barbara Dunlop ISBN: 9780373769292 3/2009 CONTEMPORARY Publisher: HARLEQUIN/SILHOUETTE
TRANSFORMED INTO THE FRENCHMAN’S MISTRESS is one of those feel-good, escapist tales that is delightfully entertaining. Barbara Dunlop writes a solid story, full of all the romantic elements one comes to expect in one of her books. While the characters live lives that most “ordinary” readers will never experience firsthand, they are written in a way that they seem almost like neighbors. They may live in bigger homes, drive fancy cars and wear fabulous clothes, but they have very real, and regular, concerns. My favorite part of this book was the level of family commitment both the hero and heroine showed. Charlotte is obviously motivated by her love for her family, and Alec is motivated by some deep-seated issues, as well. All in all, this story is a great escape from the daily grind, and I heartily recommend it! Kay James |
