LAST VAMPIRE STANDING Author: Nancy Haddock ISBN: 9780425227541 5/2009 PARANORMAL Publisher: BERKLEY
I have never read a Nancy Haddock book before, and I must say that I have obviously been missing out! LAST VAMPIRE STANDING is fun, witty, action-packed reading at its best, and when I finished that last page I wanted to immediately run out and buy the book before it to see how Francesca's story began! This is Book Two in the Oldest City Vampire Series, and in Book One, apparently Francesca is unearthed from a coffin that has been underground for centuries. Fast forward almost a year, and now we have a very open-minded and modernized vampire, who surfs, shops at Walmart and is learning how to fly—thanks to an intrusive little vamp named Jo Jo—who is also a comedian. Also, we cannot forget to add the absolutely gorgeous, hunka-hunka burning love, Deke Saber ( come on ladies, with a name like that, how can he NOT be gorgeous!). This entire book is filled with action from start to finish. With Cesca's past coming back to haunt her, a traveling vampire comedy act, a telekinetic cat, some great steamy romance, and fabulous secondary characters, LAST VAMPIRE STANDING is not one to miss! Nancy Haddock has a winner on her hands with this entire series, and I intend to make sure that I do not miss one of these fab books!! Kristal Gorman |
