CAPTIVE OF SIN Author: Anna Campbell ISBN: 9780061684289 11/2009 HISTORICAL Publisher: AVON
Sir Gideon Trevithick despises bullies above all things. He comes home from war a changed man—in more ways than one. In his stables he runs across Lady Charis Weston, a woman who has obviously been beaten, and he offers her aid. From moment one, she doesn’t seem to trust him; she lies about who she is, where she’s from and keeps a part of herself from him. Deep down, he knows she is keeping secrets. That’s fine with him because he keeps secrets of his own. Ones that destroy his sense of worth and would be off-putting to any lady. Little does he know that Lady Charis is a fighter that never gives up. I love how in this novel, the hero and heroine don’t go through pages of betrayal. They do separate temporarily, mainly because of his stubbornness and stupidity. But not once does this lady stop fighting for her love. I admire her so much; I wish more heroines were like her. CAPTIVE OF SIN was so captivating that I finished it all in one day. I would read this book over and over, and it’s a shelf keeper, for sure. I’m totally sold on this novel. CAPTIVE OF SIN a winner!
