SILENT NIGHT, HAUNTED NIGHT Author: Terri Garey ISBN: 9780061582042 11/2009 PARANORMAL Publisher: AVON
I enjoy Niki Styx adventures, but SILENT NIGHT, HAUNTED NIGHT is not quite as good as the rest. It is a bit slow, and a whole lot of stress is put on Niki's relationship with Joe that I am not quite comfortable with. I am all for the drama and tension that keeps the romantic relationship tight, but this time it feels like much more than that. It seems as though Niki's word should be good for something to her boyfriend Joe and best friend Evan. After all, they know she has unique gifts, and loving her as they do I would think their first instinct would be to support and believe in her. Before Joe is in the grip of the incubus, he is dismissing Niki's feelings, which put me off right away. I suppose that is why I have a problem with the story. Well, that, and a few other things, but I cannot say them without spoiling the rest of the book. As I said before, I like Niki so I want to find out what happens in her life. So just because I didn't particularly like this chapter of it, doesn't mean I won't care for the follow up. Shannon Johnson |
