ARMISTICE Author: Bill Haworth ISBN: 9780982361092 10/2009 HISTORICAL Publisher: DCL PUBLICATIONS
ARMISTICE is a short story about the end of World War I from the British point of view. It packs a great deal of information about war conditions at the Western front and life at the time in England into a small package. If you aren't familiar with the period or the war, ARMISTICE is a good introduction to the horrific nature of that conflict and also serves as a warning about the different way man behaves when he interacts with someone in person, versus when people are faceless and nameless. War is never pretty, and there is a terrible cost. ARMISTICE showcases both the beauty of the human spirit and its depravity. Heather Hiestand |
