The Last Will of Moira Leahy by Therese Walsh

It was November, the month I'd lost my twin, when I found it at an auction house. The ancient dagger, a keris, reminded me of childhood—full of pirate dreams and music and my sister, Moira. I had to have it, so much that I recklessly raised the stakes against another persistent soul—a shadowy figure at the back of the room who disappeared when I claimed my prize. That's when it all began.

A book on Javanese weaponry nailed to my door.
A cryptic note in a foreign tongue that made me bleed memories of my sister.
A resurrection of the music I'd long since buried.

When a mysterious invitation to Rome appeared, enticing me to visit and learn more about the keris, I found myself—for the first time in years—heeding the call of adventure that had once defined me. Defined us. Oh, Moira, could an old piece of metal possibly bring me close to the memory of you?

Some journeys lead to more than a place. Some take you to a vast interior you never imagined, where the line between reality and dreams blur, where you face your past, where you learn the truth, where you conquer your fears.

This is my story. This is her story.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

THE LAST WILL OF MOIRA LEAHY is a haunting tale of love, deception, and the price that must be paid when searching for the truth. I was both unsettled and intrigued when I opened this book. Quickly, I became immersed in the story of a sister left behind, isolated, and wrestling with the hidden truths of her life.

There are so many fascinating elements to this story. The story behind the story of how twin sisters lost each other, and how exactly the tragedy happened, kept me turning the pages of this book. I had to know all the details of Maeve and Moira's mystery. The keris, and the nightmares and trip across the world it precipitates, adds a dimension that pulls the reader further into the tangled world. Honestly, there are dreams in this story that made my heart pound! This is a book filled with unexpected twists, passionate turns, and beneath it all, psychological tones that weave a suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat tale. I was curious, yet somewhat frightened, at times, knowing that while I yearned for the truth I might be shocked by its telling!

Well written and completely engrossing, THE LAST WILL OF MOIRA LEAHY lingers in the mind long after the final page has been turned.
