Sliding Home by Kate Angell

The left fielder for the Richmond Rogues had returned from six weeks of spring training in Florida to find someone had moved into his mobile home. That person was presently in his shower. And no matter how sexy the squatter might be, Kason wanted her out.

He had his trusty dobie, Cimarron; he didn’t need anyone else in his life. Not even a stubborn tomboy who roused all kinds of wild reactions in him, then soothed his soul with peace offerings of macaroni & cheese and rainbow Jell-O. The bad boy of baseball was ready to play hardball if need be, but with Dayne Sheridan firmly planted between his sheets, he found himself… Sliding Home

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

A staccato-quick writing style and plot make SLIDING HOME a fast-paced, baseball-laced read. This novel begins with a Goldilocks setup and I had to do some belief-suspension to get past the heroine’s actions to start, but then the story takes on a life of its own.

Dayne Sheridan worked in radio promo, and was planning her wedding with a radio personality until being unceremoniously dumped on air. Her man was such a scrub, he locked her out of her home and money.

As the story begins, she is squatting in Richmond Rogues Kason Rhodes squalid double-wide trailer. He’s not thrilled to find the interloper on his remote property as he returns from spring training, but the opportunity creates a chance for an attractive woman to get to know him before she realizes he’s famous.

The rumor is that Kason was raised by wolves, and like it or not, he’s a pack animal after too long as a lone wolf. The question is, how will Dayne tame him?

There’s also a secondary romance with a coworker of Dayne’s and another ballplayer, plus lots of baseball.

For a fan of baseball, SLIDING HOME is another home run!
