Captured by Desire by Kira Morgan

A WOMAN ON THE RUN
Florie Gilder is a beautiful and celebrated goldsmith—and a fugitive from the law. Thought to have stolen a precious heirloom that is the key to her true heritage, she seeks sanctuary in a church...only to be discovered by Rane MacAllister. Chivalrous and charming, this broad-shouldered archer is bound by oath to prevent this feisty "thief" from escaping into the countryside. He does, but at a price.

A MAN ON THE HUNT
Florie chafes at being anyone's prisoner, let alone that of a man sent by her accuser. But Rane, alone with Florie in this abandoned cloister, begins to conquer her guarded heart—and ignites a fiery passion. Now as their enemies gather to bring about their ruin, Florie and Rane will need ourage, wits, and, most of all, love, to survive being...Captured by Desire.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

CAPTURED BY DESIRE is an interesting read because it conjures up fantasies of Robin Hood. There is the brave huntsman trying to feed the neglected people as the hero, while a gentle lady is forced to claim sanctuary in an abandoned kirk in order to escape the supposed evil sheriff and his odious wife. With that setting and a few cutesy scenes involving a supposed Viking curse, the book is a decent read.

At times, this one is a bit slow, choppy, and contains some silly subject matter that I find to be more filler than substance. Okay, so I did the occasional eye roll during some of the scenes and overlooked how far-fetched the story itself is, because I find the setting enough of a draw on its own. I am sucker for this style of romantic read, so I cut it some slack, I suppose.

CAPTURED BY DESIRE is not the best read I have encountered this summer, but neither is it a complete waste of time.
