MY ZOMBIE VALENTINE Author: Katie MacAlister, Angie Fox, Marianne Mancusi and Lisa Cach ISBN: 9780843963601 1/2010 ANTHOLOGY Publisher: DORCHESTER
Fascination with the undead and a sense of humor are all that’s needed to fully enjoy MY ZOMBIE VALENTINE. An anthology, this volume is amusing, entertaining and well-written. Katie MacAlister’s Bring Out Your Dead gives animation to the “functionally deceased”, and while interspersed with snippets of French that need no interpretation, kept me in stitches. Gentlemen Prefer Voodoo by Angie Fox pulled me right in and although it concludes on a satisfactory note, I wanted more. I suppose a fast-talking dragon creature and a woman who can voodoo herself a hunky man really grab my attention! Zombiewood Confidential by Marianne Mancusi surprised me. I never expected such an intricate plot in such a short story, but that’s exactly what I got. I crept along between trailers with Mason, and rolled my eyes at the LA haute cuisine, loving every minute of the adventure. Nicely done! Lisa Cach’s Every Part of You rounded this anthology out well, and was the perfect way to close the book. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this book. MY ZOMBIE VALENTINE is sheer fun!
