MY LORD SCANDAL Author: Emma Wildes ISBN:9780451231062 9/2010 HISTORICAL Publisher: SIGNET
It does no disservice to this novel to say the cover was my favorite part of this book. I liked the book! But the man on the cover, while not exactly the same description as the curly-haired hero, is gorgeous! Alex St. James survived five years with Wellington’s army before returning to England to take up duties among his duke father’s estates. His past acquainted him with certain skills not common to the ton, though, and he agrees to break into a house to retrieve something for his grandmother. Hiding on a balcony, he meets Lady Amelia, a young, innocent beauty who suffers from asthma, and helps her during an attack. While they are instantly attracted, it’s going to take some Romeo/Juliet machinations to find any time together, since their families are feuding. The characters are charming together and the sex is, well, sexy. With a surprise ending, MY LORD SCANDAL is an above-average Regency novel. I look forward to reading the next two books in the series!
