Warrior Avenged by Addison Fox

For ages, the goddess Nemesis has sought divine vengeance against mortal man, as she awaits her chance for retaliation against Mount Olympus. Now, after making a deal with a dark wizard, she has reinvented herself as a female spy with her own sinister agenda…

Immortal warrior Kane Montague is as lethal as a Scorpion – like the one that marks his powerful form. As an assassin for MI-6, he was an ace gun-for-hire until someone very close burned him. Now on the outs with his former colleagues, Kane knows all too well who’s to blame: a sexy secret agent named Ilsa.

When their paths cross again, the passion between Kane and Ilsa is irresistible…and possibly lethal. But they soon realize that Ilsa is simply a pawn in a conspiracy aimed at the heart of the Zodiac Warriors. Can Kane trust her? Or is Ilsa the only one who can save him, body and soul?

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

This is Addison Fox's second novel in the Sons of the Zodiac series and her second novel, period. With her debut novel, while it was average, I could tell she had a lot of potential and this book certainly helps to prove that. I would recommend reading the first novel in the Sons of the Zodiac, WARRIOR ASCENDED, before reading WARRIOR AVENGED; otherwise, you will be very lost and won't get the full enjoyment out of this book.

WARRIOR AVENGED really builds upon the foundation set in the first book. It has an interesting concept and brings and shows a unique perspective of Greek Mythology. The novel starts off slow and predictable for the first few chapters, which is what makes it a Four Rose Read and not a Top Pick. Once the story picks up pace, it improves drastically.

The couple in this story, Ilsa and Kane, were a very explosive pair. During the story, I felt a great amount of sympathy for the wronged Ilsa. With Kane, on the other hand, I became a little aggravated as there were times when he became a complete jerk. Overall, though, I enjoyed the pair and their journey together.

I was very pleased with WARRIOR AVENGED, and if Addison Fox keeps improving the way she has, she's on the fast track to becoming one of my favorite authors.
