You Only Love Once by Caroline Linden

The most dangerous pursuit . . . is passion.

Devilishly handsome and absolutely fearless, Nate Avery is in London on an important mission—and paired with an English spy, who is meant to watch him as much as aid him. But much to his surprise, that spy turns out to be an alluring and enigmatic temptress.

Angelique Martand may be a beauty, but she's also the most dangerous agent in England—and this job is far beneath her. She doesn't like the way the dashing American looks at her, or the way he makes her feel—like a woman, not like a spy. She can't afford to fall under Nate's spell and indulge her desires, no matter how desperately she wants to. But soon it becomes clear that there's more to this job than either of them knows . . . and the secret they uncover could cost them their lives as well as the once-in-a-lifetime passion that burns between them.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

What do you get when you bring together a dangerous and beautiful spy on a mission for England that will put her at odds with a dashing American hero sent to bring justice back for his young country? Fireworks and passion so bright, it will temporarily blind you!

YOU ONLY LOVE ONCE is an exciting and sexy read! Full of mystery, deceit, and a romance that brings to mind the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, I had a hard time putting it down. It is fast-paced, fearless, and honestly, a one-of-a-kind story. Sure, I have read legions of books with male spies out to preserve the innocence of the everyday fellow, but never have I read a historical romance featuring a deadly heroine with a penchant for blades! She makes no compromise for what she does and is one of the most fascinating heroines I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Pairing her with a hero who is her opposite yet complete equal, is nothing short of fantastic.

As no read is perfect, there are a few scenes that I just chalked up to poetic license, but there is nothing that I can see to distract from the thrill and passion of YOU ONLY LOVE ONCE.
