Slow Dancing on Price's Pier by Lisa Dale
Fifteen years ago, Garret Sorensen's family, trust, and heart were destroyed when Thea Celik betrayed him and married his brother. Now they are divorcing. Garret's ready to finally mend his relationship with his brother. But being back in Newport, Rhode Island, triggers a lot of memories—all leading back to Thea.

Thea's not ready to let go of the Sorensens—even if it means being around Garret. As they cautiously circle around each other—finding themselves drawn together—they realize following their hearts could cast them adrift.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

SLOW DANCING ON PRICE'S PIER is just as good as Ms. Dale's previous works. I was immediately drawn into Thea's life, believing how she feels about salvaging her life. Watching her come to terms with Garrett, her old flame, is at times comical. When she asks if he's hitting on her and his answer is a definite "maybe", she cautions his mother will disown him. His reaction? He'll chance it. Now, I like a guy who follows his heart regardless of what the rest of the world has to say!

One thing that really stuck with me from this book is the statement Thea writes regarding coffee being an acquired taste. It's true, and is a reminder that many things in life are acquired tastes. Just because the first taste isn't the best, there isn't room for success if one keeps trying. I like that, very much.

All in all, this is one solid, satisfying read. Thea and Garrett rise above their pasts and show there's always room for a happy future. Ms. Dale's latest book kept me reading long into the night—and I enjoyed every minute of the experience. I can't wait to see what she's got in store for us with her next book!
