IN THE AIR TONIGHT is the third book in Stephanie Tyler's Shadow Forces series. I do recommend reading the other books before this one as there is back story. I gotta say, I'm lucky that I love zombies, because otherwise, I'm not sure I would have been prepared to deal with all the emotional trauma every single character in the book had to go through. After some of the zombie comics I read, this was a field of daises; but for most people it might be different, so fair warning. First thing I'm gonna say is that I was impressed with the author's writing. There is so much going on that each subplot could be a separate story. One would think the main plot or the subplots would get lost in the shuffle, but that isn't the case at all. Each plot gets the time it needs without infringing on the other plots, and it was amazing that Tyler pulled that off. It's hard to talk about the romance because even though there was romance, it wasn't developed fully due to all the growing and healing the characters had to do. So although there was romance in this book that was sweet and heart wrenching at the same time, I don't see it as a major part of the book, and I believe the romances will be further developed in later books. This was a great addition to the Shadow Forces series, and I can't wait for the fourth one. I recommend this to fans of the series and fans of suspense novels. Caitlin Turner |
