Ash Turner has waited a lifetime to seek revenge on the man who ruined his family—and now the time for justice has arrived. At Parford Manor, he intends to take his place as the rightful heir to the dukedom and settle an old score with the current duke once and for all. But instead he finds himself drawn to a tempting beauty who has the power to undo all his dreams of vengeance….

Lady Margaret knows she should despise the man who's stolen her fortune and her father's legacy—the man she's been ordered to spy on in the guise of a nurse. Yet the more she learns about the new duke, the less she can resist his smoldering appeal. Soon Margaret and Ash find themselves torn between old loyalties—and the tantalizing promise of passion….

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

What a page turner UNVEILED is! It is moving, fiery, and truly an odd read for the time period in which it is set. Odd, as in a plot consisting of a suddenly illegitimate daughter of the gentry, hiding amongst the servant class, in order to usurp the outsider come to take her family home and destroy her name. Naturally, all is not as it seems, and I really enjoy the fact that this is in no way a run-of-the-mill historical romance. Odd is good!

Filled with wonderfully fun and expressive dialogue, witty scenes, and plenty of romantic tension, UNVEILED is a historical romantic read that aches to be finished. I find some of the heroines rationalizations to be awkward and dumb (my reason for a Four Rose award, instead of a Top Pick), but I overlook some of those moments simply because the hero is so good, and so is the rest of the story.
