Only Mine by Susan Mallery
You can't win if you don't play...

Her town's lack of men may make headlines, but it isn't news to Dakota Hendrix. The beautiful blonde has bigger problems to deal with, such as overseeing the romance reality competition filming in Fool's Gold. Screening eligible bachelors is a difficult enough task, but Dakota hits an unexpected snag when a sexy stranger comes to town.

Finn Anderssen will do anything to keep his twin brothers— the perfect contestants— off the show. Despite Dakota's better judgment, she finds herself drawn to the mysterious outsider. Like her, Finn knows about heartbreak and how a family can fall apart, so she doesn't dare to hope for anything more than a fling. After all, even in the Land of Happy Endings, finding true love is never as easy as it looks on TV.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

ONLY MINE is fun, fast, and filled with romantic scenes that not only entertain, but heat up the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed Susan Mallery's newest novel, and ran through it so quickly. I couldn't put it down. I laughed, rooted for the underdog brother, and laughed some more. All good, all the way through.

When Dakota realizes handsome Finn is the parental stand-in for his brothers, she can only guess at the tragedy that landed him the role. But she's got a job to do, and the twins are dying to get as far from Finn as possible. She ends up mediating, something she seems to fall right into, but the position isn't one she really wants. For two people who really have doubts about happily-ever-afters, Finn and Dakota get real close, and fast. The plot pulls so many secondary characters, family issues, reading and societal images and even pets into it successfully, it all just feels like a peek into a group of friends.

I heartily recommend ONLY MINE to anyone who doesn't mind seeing that families aren't always perfect, but sometimes even the "imperfect" bunches can find true happiness. Very well done!
