The Capture of the Earl of Glencrae
We joyfully request your attendance at the wedding of Miss Angelica Cynster ... but not until she and her hero lay to rest an ancient grudge in the Scottish Highlands!

Headstrong Angelica Cynster is certain she'll recognize her fated husband at first sight. And when her eyes meet those of a mysterious nobleman, she knows beyond a doubt that he's the one. But her heart is soon pounding for an entirely different reason—when her hero abducts her!

The eighth Earl of Glencrae has no choice but to kidnap Angelica, the one Cynster sister with whom he hadn't wanted to tangle. But to save his castle and his clan, he must persuade her to assist him—and he's prepared to offer marriage to seal the deal!

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:4 Rose Read

I've been away from Stephanie Laurens' Cynster series for quite a while, so I was concerned about how well THE CAPTURE OF THE EARL OF GLENCRAE would stand up alone. Not to worry. This final installment of a trilogy involving the kidnappings of Cynster sisters Heather, Eliza, and in this book, Angelica, holds up just fine on its own.

This is typical Cynster fare, at least from what this lapsed Laurens fan remembers. A magical talisman in necklace form aids each sister in finding their perfect mate, while this latest and final episode reveals the vengeful reasons behind their overall kidnappings. While the plot wasn't as believable or enthralling as I like my historical romances to read, the attraction and sparks between Angelica and Debenham are instantaneous (of course), and the sex scenes are sexy, sensual, and downright wicked.

What really takes the cake...er...earl, though, is Angelica. This is a heroine with brains and foresight, who's more than able to call the shots, and definitely won't take no for an answer. Independent, feisty, and a little bit bossy, Angelica's determined to stick by her man, no matter what. It is her character, and how she and Debenham interact, that pretty much made this book a winner for me.

With the rest of the Cynster clan reappearing, disappearing, and then reappearing again (as the Cynsters always do), THE CAPTURE OF THE EARL OF GLENCRAE should please current, new, and even lapsed Laurens fans, like me, quite nicely. However, you might want to read Heather and Eliza's stories, VISCOUNT BRECKENRIDGE TO THE RESCUE and IN PURSUIT OF ELIZA CYNSTER first before tackling this book, just so you have this trilogy's back stories in their entirety.
