A Novel with Thoughts and Ponderings

ACCIDENTAL ANGEL

Author: Tess Thompson ISBN:0972599037 12/2002 CONTEMPORARY Publisher: PORT TOWN PUBLISHING

Dena Quinn, a nurse at a Colorado hospital, witnesses a serious car accident. When she pulls Doctor Shane Madden from the burning vehicle, he swears that she saved his life. Consequently, Shane begins to re-evaluate his relationship with Elizabeth Langstrome, a selfish, spoiled woman who is more concerned that he missed an “important” charity dinner than that he almost lost his life. Shane finds himself drawn to Dena, who has become his guardian angel. When she agrees to rent the apartment over his garage, the relationship quickly blossoms into friendship and more, and Dena confesses that her ex-husband, Mark, is also a doctor. His violent temper, including an attack on Dena, led to divorce. Still he pursued her, however and, fearing for her safety, Dena fled to Colorado to start a new life.

When Elizabeth learns about Dena, she vows to get Shane back at any cost. She contacts Dena’s ex husband and tells him where Dena is hiding, then also leads Dena to believe that she is engaged to Shane. In Elizabeth’s estimation, Dena is just a final fling before Shane marries.

Tess Thompson has woven a tale of romance, intrigue and suspense that is guaranteed to be a page turner. Will Dena ever be free of her ex husband? Will she and Shane find happiness together? Or will Elizabeth’s deceitful, antagonist nature finally prevail and split them up for good?

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

A finely drawn romantic couple and a chilling 'bad guy' are the highlights of this story. A predictable plot? Well, yeah, but ACCIDENTAL ANGEL is a character driven piece and these characters are a treat to read. A woman running from an abusive past and a workaholic doctor discover something wonderful in their relationship amid several obstacles placed in their path to happiness. This story is fast paced, entertaining, with several intriguing secondary characters.

I almost cheered as I read good prevailing over evil.
