Almost a Gentleman

A DARING MASQUERADE DELICIOUSLY UNDRESSED...

For three years, London's haute ton has been captivated by the cool elegance of a dandy named Mr. Philip "Phizz" Marston. Tall, refined, an expert gambler with a cold, unerring eye for style, Marston's lightest comment can blackball a gentleman from society's most exclusive clubs. But what keeps the ruthless social climbers attuned to his every word and move is something more unsettling...a grace and beauty that leaves women and men alike in a state of unthinkable yearning... ...and a burning gaze that compels David Hervey, Earl of Linseley, to discover the passionate woman beneath the masquerade. ...

UNTIL EVERY EVERY HIDDEN DESIRE IS REVEALED

In this dazzling debut novel, Pam Rosenthal introduces a heroine whose lust for revenge commits her to a daring game in which the slightest glance could plunge her into dangerous discovery...and a hunger for one man leaves her open to every erotic temptation... .

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

I must admit I picked this up out of shear curiosity, and to my surprise found it rather good. I usually have "believability" problems with the girl/boy masquerade storylines, but it didn't really bother me so much in this book because the writing was so well done. The sex and physical relationship between the two main characters was hot++, and I adored David (but then I always go for the quiet, homey mature types *G*), but I just never quite felt the emotional connection between David and Phoebe as I thought it should have been. The plot ended a bit abruptly for me...almost as if it were rushed...but even at that the prose was so wonderfully penned that that didn't matter that much to me either.

My final thoughts? I think it's a very impressive start for a first book and I will definitely read the next release Ms. Rosenthal writes. If you like hot erotic sex, flowing prose, and are a historical romance buff, then this is one newcomer's book you really may want to check out.
