RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

You want a very different summer read? Did you like Elvis Presley's movie Kissing Cousins? Then you should get a laugh out of Bronwyn Williams' newest Harlequin Historical, BLACKSTONE'S BRIDE. How is it like the movie?...

Well, if you're a widow woman in the mountains, you have to marry a cousin so the land can stay in the family, right? Eleanor Miller is being held prisoner on top of her deceased husband's mountain--his family wants her to marry one of the men in the family. For months she has had no one to talk to but her chickens, until a badly beaten Jed Blackstone stumbles into her yard. And if the cousins' beating didn't kill Jed, Elly's constant talk just might. If Jed can recover and keep hiding, then just maybe he and Elly can escape down mountain.

BLACKSTONE'S BRIDE has some lighthearted moments and I enjoyed the perilous journey as Jed and Elly flee from the hillbillies. <G>.
