Dark Melody

They were masters of the darkness, searching through eternity for a mistress of the light…

Lead guitarist of the Dark Troubadors, Dayan was renowned for his mesmerizing performances. His melodies stilled crowds, beckoned, seduced, tempted. And always, he called to her. His lover. His lifemate. He called to her to complete him. To give him the emotions that had faded from his existence, leaving him an empty shell of growing darkness. Save me. Come to me.

Corrinne Wentworth stood at the vortex of a gathering storm. Pursued by the same fanatics who’d murdered her husband, she was risking her life by keeping more that one secret. Fragile, delicate, vulnerable, she had an indomitable faith that made her fiery surrender to Dayan all the more powerful. This was the one woman whose loss would destroy him, even as her love promised to heal his soul.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

Those Carpathian men. My heart beats faster just thinking of them. All of them. In Christine Feehan's new book DARK MELODY I met one of my new favorites, Dayan. Of course that means now I have another wonderful Dark book to add to my collection.

Dayan is so lonely that he finds himself spending more and more time away from his beloved family of musical Carpathians. Convinced that his time to turn into a vampire is nearing he tries to summon his mate by playing a haunting melody on his guitar. Dayan is convinced if she doesn't appear soon it will be too late for him.

Mesmerized by the music playing just for her, Corinne appears in the bar like magic. Dayan wants her and she cannot find the strength to resist him. Her husband has been killed and she fears she and her close friend may be next. Corinne possesses many secrets that could destroy those around her, but Dayan seems determined to keep her by his side.

Those familiar with Christine Feehan's Dark series will no doubt see the same pattern emerging in this story. You know the one: The heroine's goodness and light to the hero's dark nature saving him from eternal damnation. However, this book takes an unexpected turn that you don't expect and I liked it very much. The heroine is fresh and not unaware of her psychic abilities. Her secret changes everything and I found myself hurrying through the pages in an effort to see the ending. This is in my top three Feehan books and that says a lot. But, then again, I enjoy all of them so I guess I am a bit prejudiced *G*.
