Ben Longtree is a kind, gentle man, who only wants to heal injuried animals. He is one quarter Native American (Shoshone) and has a strange magical way of healing animals, so people disliked him. ONLY BY YOUR TOUCH, like most of Ms. Anderson's books, has yet another heroine that must overcome physical violence to reach her hero and her happily-ever-after....not once, not twice, but at least three times. I am so disappointed in Catherine Anderson's latest book. She is a wonderful author, but why does she have to put so much violence into her books? ONLY BY YOUR TOUCH could have been a sweet love story without the near rapes, the harassment of the town's people towards the hero (which I never understood), and the sicko who injuried innocent animals for no reason. I love Ms. Anderson's historicals, but I am depressed by her contemporaries. DeeKay |
