Laughter is indeed the best medicine. This book proves it because I am still smiling, though I finished this book days ago. I will say most, if not all of the humor is sexual in some way, so if you find that topic funny this book is for you! Kate C. Leever, our heroine, recently inherited an editor position at Roundhouse Publishing. Taking over the job means she has to prove herself capable of it, so she begins by agreeing to sign a reclusive author, Lucern Argeneau our hero, to holding some book signings and tours. Kate realizes that Lucern is not going to cooperate with her at all, so she hops on a plane to convince him in person. She certainly doesn't expect him to be so handsome and definitely would never expect him to be a vampire! Lucern is not ready for Kate when she barges into his home and declares an all out war to make him do at least one public appearance. He has to give her credit for being so tenacious, and a bit sneaky, and agrees to do the Romantic Times Convention simply to get rid of her. He will never admit he has come to like her and finds her bitingly scrumptious! This is such a funny book that I will no doubt be reading it over again soon. Kate is so funny as a normal working girl trying to come to grips with a vampire she is crazy about. And believe me, Lucern is not an easy vampire to get to know. The romance between the two is slow going at first but I really enjoyed the strange conversations they have and the crazy interruptions that happen at the worst moments. I won't give away all the hysterics but lets just say I won't look at an RT Convention table covering the same again! Shannon Johnson |
