TEXAS GOLD Author: Carolyn Davidson ISBN:0373292635 7/2003 HISTORICAL Publisher: HARLEQUIN HISTORICAL
Carolyn Davidson is one of my comfort reads; her characters are hard working country folk in old fashion love stories. She didn't disappoint me with TEXAS GOLD. To put TEXAS GOLD into a theme, it would be a marriage in trouble. Faith walked away from her workaholic husband three years before, after the death of their three month old son. Faith was a trophy wife, or so she thought. Max didn't realize that the wife he adored was being mentally abused by his manipulative mother with whom they lived. When Max finds Faith in Texas, he is surprised at the woman she has become. From satin gown to home spun cloth, she can now take care of herself without his money or help. Max falls in love with her, refusing to let anything stand in the way of winning her love again. There are a few secondary characters that appeared in Ms. Davidson book TEMPTING A TEXAS (3/2003) but TEXAS GOLD easily stands alone. Debbie Jett |
