THE LADY CHOSEN Author: Stephanie Laurens ISBN:006002069 9/2003 HISTORICAL Publisher: AVON
I'm happy to report the heroes in Stephanie Laurens' new Bastion series are not Cynster clones. At least not yet. The hero, Tristan, of the first story in this new series, THE LADY CHOSEN, certainly couldn't be considered a Cynster makeover. Sure he's an Alpha male, a delicious Alpha male. But whereas the Cynster cousins all possessed plenty of town polish, Tristan has none. Furthermore, he doesn't want any. New to his title, this hero has been in the military - an English spy - for the past decade or so and could care less about the ton. THE LADY CHOSEN has lots of humor and a nice little mystery. The heroine, Leonora, is intelligent and feisty. She gives as good as she gets and she gets more than she bargained for with Tristan. Much more :) This new Laurens series features seven ex-military men, all new to their titles. I'm actually hoping for an eighth book. Dalziel, the mysterious head of English's spy network, is just begging for his own story. Next up though is Tony Blake's story. Blake appeared as a secondary character in Laurens' first Avon single title, CAPTAIN JACK'S WOMAN. THE LADY CHOSEN is top notch Laurens. Debbie Jett |
