Latest News and Updates
Once again, Romance Reader at Heart™ is expanding and undergoing more design and sectional changes that we hope will make this a more accessible and easier to navigate website. We've upgraded our main server and have added an additional one just for our section timelines of fashions and events. Besides our reviews and new releases, those are some of our busiest webpages, frequented by schools, students, authors and readers, as well as googlers and search engine users researching period costumes.
We've grown tremendously over the years since our initial inception as a simple database—a repository, if you will—of historical romance authors' booklists and synopses, both past and present. During that time we've added fashion timelines, glossaries and historical trivia; we've featured interviews and spotlights of some of our favorite romance writers and given away hundreds of books in our featured contests. And in 2003 we began to review romance books, expanding the website's focus to include not just historical romance, but also contemporary, paranormal, chick lit, suspense and historical fiction within its webpages. Recently we added a sci-fi section and are almost ready to launch one dedicated to suspense. Even more are in the works.
Romance Reader at Heart™ still pledges to keep as much of the website as uncluttered and simple as possible. Yet we also realize that in order to keep on growing and giving our visitors the very best information we possibly can, the necessity for Romance Reader at Heart™ to pay its own way is a must. You'll see banner ads and displays on many of our entry pages—they are a great way for authors and publishers to get their newest release information out to the readers, but most important, they help generate income to pay for the website's upkeep and enable future expansion, such as we've just undergone, without passing that cost on to our visitors.
You can rest assured that the one thing Romance Reader at Heart™ has pledged from the start and will continue to strive to uphold is that no banners or ads will be featured within our author/title book database. Each of our subgenre sections will remain pristine in that regard as we are determined to allow our visitors to browse and search for books and authors without those annoying popup ads or blinding banner distractions.
And again, from us to you, a very big THANK YOU! to all of you who have visited and continue to visit and share our love of books on our little corner of the internet. Here's to many, many more years of fantabulous reading!
