AGAINST THE WIND short story UNTAMED: MAVERICK HEARTS 7/1993 ISBN: 0373832591
CHASE THE THUNDER 12/1989 Casey Saunders' father had been cruelly gunned down in the street. And Sean Mallory was the one man who could lead her to the killer. Mallory had been hunting Wilson and his gang of cutthroats across the Southwest. He didn't need anyone's help. Especially not the help being offered by the feisty Casey and the young gunslinger Ty Donaldson. His growing respect of Ty was troubling enough. But the way he felt about Casey kept him awake at night and made him long for the killing to be over . . . . and their lives together to begin.
CHASE THE WIND 4/2000 ISBN: 0373217056 Dear Reader, Sometimes magic happens when you are writing a book. A character emerges that you never expected, and he becomes so compelling, you have to give him his own book. That special story happened in both Between the Thunder and Miracle of the Heart, a duo recently reprinted by Harlequin. Now, happily, their sequels are being reprinted in this volume, Chase the Thunder and Against the Wind. One tale is that of Sean Mallory and Ty Donaldson, a Reb and a Yank who met in Between the Thunder. Sean, a hero, and Ty, an antihero, clashed from the moment they met, but they became unlikely allies in a quest for vengeance and justice. In the second, I was able to finish the saga of the O'Neill/Hampton family, which started in my first book, Swampfire, and continued through Miracle of the Heart when Seth Hampton first appeared. His brother won the girl in that story. Now it's his turn. But it is far more than a love story. It is a tale of healing, not only of human souls, but of a nation torn apart by a bitter war. And where else to tell both stories than the West, the place of new beginnings. The West has always fascinated me, because it was a proving ground, always testing the fiber, strength and courage of those who tried to tame it. These heroes, and the women they love, embody its spirit. I hope you enjoy both stories as much as I enjoyed telling them. Patricia Potter
